AI Photo Restoration
See the difference

How It Works
- 1Upload the scan or photograph of the damaged print.
- 2Leave the defaults, or open advanced settings for guidance, steps, seed, and JPEG or PNG output.
- 3Run the restoration for 1 credit.
- 4Download it, or carry it on to the colorizer and then the upscaler.
Use Cases
Restore, then colorize
The two operations are ordered on purpose. Damage removed first means the colorizer is reading the photograph rather than the damage.
A box of prints, one pass each
Nothing here needs masking or selecting, so a stack of scans is a stack of single clicks rather than an afternoon of retouching.
Before enlarging for a frame
Restore at native size and upscale afterwards, so the upscaler is enlarging a clean frame instead of enlarging a scratch.
Genealogy and archive work
Fading and foxing come off without the subject being redrawn, which is what makes the result usable as a record and not only as a picture.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it need a scan, or will a phone photo do?+
Either. A flat scan gives the model the most to work with, but a well-lit photograph of the print held square to the camera is usually enough.
Should I restore or colorize first?+
Restore first. The colorizer infers colour from what it can see, so removing the damage before colouring stops a crease from being coloured in as though it were part of the picture.
Can I control how hard it works?+
Advanced settings carry guidance and steps at the provider defaults. Raising steps gives the model longer on the frame; raising guidance makes it commit harder to the repair.
What does one restoration cost?+
1 credit per image, at any setting, shown on the button before you run it.
