Made with this app
How it works
AI Photo Action turns a still photograph into a short animated clip by letting you choose one action from a visual library. Upload a photo of one person or two, pick what they do, and the app returns a natural, five-second mp4 of them waving, laughing, sharing a hug or performing any of the other actions in the library. It is built for content creators, small businesses, social media managers and anyone who wants a photo to feel alive without shooting new video footage.
How to use this app
- 1
Upload your file. There is no prompt you have to write.
- 2
Pick a look from the visual library, add a note of your own if you want one, then press Generate.
- 3
Watch your result appear in the gallery within moments.
- 4
Download, share, or generate again with a new idea.
What you can make
Social media profile animations
Upload a clean headshot, choose "Wave" or "Smile", and get a short looping-friendly clip that makes a profile or bio page feel warm and personal. The person looks exactly as they do in the photo, so brand consistency stays intact across platforms.
Event and wedding memories
Take a favourite couple or family photo from an event, pick "Hug" or "Heads together" for a two-person shot, and turn a single printed moment into a shareable clip guests can keep. Both people must already appear together in the uploaded photo.
Retail and small business content
A founder or staff headshot becomes a welcoming clip when you choose "Thumbs up" or "Point at camera". The background, clothing and setting stay unchanged, so the result matches existing brand photography without a new shoot.
Sports and team celebration posts
Choose "Cheer" or "High five" from a game-day team photo to create a celebratory clip for a post-match post. The energy reads immediately and the action matches the real people in the picture.
Holiday and greeting card content
Pick "Blow a kiss" or "Heart hands" from a seasonal portrait and export the mp4 to use in a digital greeting or story. Sound can be added in any editor afterwards, making it easy to pair with music or a voiceover.
Shots to try
- A professional headshot of a woman in a navy blazer, paired with "Wave", produces a friendly clip for a LinkedIn profile or team page.
- A casual outdoor photo of two friends side by side, paired with "High five", gives an energetic moment for a social story or event recap post.
- A birthday portrait of someone mid-smile, paired with "Cheer", creates a celebration clip that works well dropped into a digital card or group chat.
- A couple photographed at a reception, paired with "Hug", turns a still keepsake into a five-second moving memory ready to share or print as a QR code.
- A brand founder standing in their shop, paired with "Point at camera", gives an inviting, direct clip for a website homepage or promotional reel.
- A child in a school portrait, paired with "Wink", creates a playful clip that works as a fun end-of-year keepsake when exported and combined with music in an editor.
Tips for better results
Choose photos with clear framing
The app keeps the original framing throughout the clip, so a photo where the person is centred and unobstructed gives the action the most room to read clearly. Heavily cropped or partially obscured faces can produce less consistent results.
Match the tile to the photo's space
Actions like "Cheer" and "Clap" use both arms wide, so they work best when the upload shows the person from at least the waist up. A tight close-up suits calmer tiles like "Smile", "Wink" or "Laugh" better.
Use the optional text box for specific details
The library tile is the main decision, but the small free-text box under it lets you note a detail worth keeping, such as a prop the person is holding or a specific expression to lean into. Keep any addition brief and tied to the action already chosen.
Pick the right aspect ratio before uploading
The output clip matches the shape of the photo you upload: square returns 960 by 960, landscape returns 1280 by 720 and portrait returns 720 by 1280. Choosing the shape that fits your destination platform before uploading saves a crop step later.
When to choose this app
AI Photo Action is the right choice when you need a specific, recognisable person to perform a clear human action in a short clip, and the existing photograph is the only material you have. Sibling apps like Seedance 1.0 Pro and Kling 2.1 Pro handle general image-to-video work and give you a full prompt to direct motion freely, which suits scenes, objects or abstract subjects. AI Photo Action trades that open flexibility for precision: the person in your photo does exactly what the tile says, stays recognisable throughout, and the clip is ready without writing a prompt at all.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use a group photo with more than two people?
The two-person tiles, "Hug", "Heads together", "High five" and "Arm around", are designed for photos showing exactly two people together. Photos with larger groups may produce unpredictable results with those tiles. For group shots, single-person tiles like "Cheer" or "Wave" tend to work more reliably when one person is clearly the subject.
Will the background change in the clip?
No. The app preserves the background exactly as it appears in the uploaded photo. The location, lighting, colours and any objects behind the person remain unchanged. Only the person's action changes, which is why the result looks like footage taken at the same time and place as the original shot.
Can I add a caption, logo or text to the clip?
The app does not place any text, captions, logos or overlays into the video. The output is a clean mp4 of the person performing the chosen action. If you need on-screen text or a lower third, those can be added in a video editor after you download the clip.
What file formats can I upload?
The upload well accepts JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF files. Drag a file straight into it or pick one from your device. The app works from the first frame of a GIF, so an animated GIF is treated as a still photo rather than processed as video.
Does the clip include sound or a music track?
The output mp4 has no audio track at all. The person does not speak, laugh audibly or make any sound in the file. If you want music or a voiceover, import the downloaded clip into any video editor and add audio there. This gives you full control over the final sound.
How long is the clip and can I request a different length?
Every clip is approximately five seconds long. The duration is fixed and cannot be shortened or extended through the library or the optional text box. If five seconds is longer than you need for a platform, you can trim the downloaded mp4 in any video editor before posting.
Do I need any editing skills?
No. Upload your photo, pick the look you want from the library, and the app writes the full instruction for you behind the scenes. There is nothing to install and nothing to configure. A small optional box lets you add one line in your own words, but the app works without it.
Can I use the results commercially?
Yes. Content you generate is yours to use, subject to our content licenses.
How long does a generation take?
Most generations finish in under a minute, and you can watch progress live in the gallery.
